Portland Oregon Symphony Orchestra Concert

The Portland Oregon Symphony Orchestra Concert series for 2004-2005 presented works by Western Oregon University professor, Dr. Kevin Walczyk. Dr. Walcyk is well known throughout the United States, with compositions performed by numerous prestigious orchestras.
Portland concerts are great, but sometimes expensive and to experience a Portland Orchestra performance of local Oregon talent is a treat, though becoming more widely available. The state enjoys a wide range of talented composer that are featured at the Portland Symphony, Eugene Symphony, Salem Chamber Orchestra and Corvallis Symphony Orchestra.
Drive a short distance
The Western Oregon University Symphony Orchestra is also a hot bed of raw performance and composition talent offering a plethora of concerts to the public each school quarter.
Symphony concerts at WOU often feature works by award winning faculty and student composers. Other more "classical" Orchestra concerts at WOU feature prominent student featured concertos.
In addition to later period music, WOU features the finest Early Music Concerts in the state of Oregon. WOU also offers great Oregon jazz concerts.
Unlike Portland concerts, most WOU Oregon Concerts are free to the public, while admission for featured guest artists is generally less than $10.
